Privacy policy

This policy explains how Signal & Skill ("we", "us") collects and uses personal information when you visit signalandskill.com, contact us, subscribe to our newsletter, join the Academy waitlist, book a call or work with us. We follow the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and, for visitors and clients in the United Kingdom, the UK GDPR.
Who we are
Signal & Skill is a digital marketing training, consulting and recruitment business based in Lagos, Nigeria, working with clients worldwide. Contact us about privacy at connect@signalandskill.com.
What we collect

How we use it

- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations
Our legal basis
We rely on your consent for newsletters and for analytics and advertising cookies; on contract when we deliver services you've agreed to; on our legitimate interests to respond to enquiries and run our business securely; and on legal obligation for records we must keep.
Cookies and tracking
We use Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager to understand website use, and may use the Meta pixel to measure advertising. We also store campaign tags and ad click identifiers from the link you arrived on for up to 90 days, so we can tell which campaigns bring enquiries. Visitors in the UK and EEA are asked before analytics or advertising cookies are set. You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We use trusted providers to run the website and our business, who process data on our behalf: Cloudflare (website hosting), Formspree (form submissions), Calendly (bookings), our email newsletter provider, Google (analytics and Workspace or email services) and Meta (advertising measurement). Some providers are based outside Nigeria and the UK, so your data may be transferred internationally; we rely on these providers' contractual safeguards for such transfers.
How long we keep it
- Newsletter and waitlist: until you unsubscribe
- Enquiries that don't become work: up to 2 years
- Client and intake records: for the length of the engagement plus up to 6 years for accounting and legal purposes
- Analytics data: according to the retention settings in Google Analytics (up to 14 months)
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal data, object to or restrict how we use it, and withdraw consent at any time. Email connect@signalandskill.com and we'll respond within one month. You can also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission or, in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
Our services and website are intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect data from children under 18.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
